Our ATP Iraqi partner, Ali, recently traveled across the border to visit the Yazidi families ATP helped reach and relocate out of harm’s way. Originally taken by ISIS this Yazidi family was given three options: rape, death, or convert to radical Islam. By God’s grace, they escaped and then suffered the almost unbearable circumstances of living in an IDP camp for 3 years, with very limited food and no water or electricity. The summers were unbearably hot and the winters miserably cold.
One of the daughters has a club foot and other medical needs and ATP played a significant role in their escape from Iraq and relocation to a safer neighboring country. Our team is actively working to get the clearance and funding in place to bring her to the United States for surgery and the specialized medical attention she needs.
Sadly, we just received word that the mother and one of the daughters were just targeted and attacked by a local Muslim simply because they were Yazidi. (Photo below shows some of the bruises and injuries they sustained.) The family is currently in hiding at a secure location and we are in need of an immediate $2500 to relocate them about 4 hours away from their current location to a safer area. We are seeking your prayers and support for the safe transport and relocation of this traumatized family unit.
