Victor Marx Visits Lake County Juvenile Detention Facility

Occasionally, it takes time to understand the impact of our actions and efforts.

Early last month, Victor visited the Lake County Juvenile Center in Indiana to talk with some of the youth being held there.  Following the visit, a fight broke out.  After the parties were separated, Victor was allowed to talk with the young men involved.  Victor tells the story in this video clip.

A couple weeks later, the ministry received a hand written note regarding the visit and the fighting incident.

Dear Mr Marx,

I was the one who knelt down next to you when you came to Lake County Juvenile Center.  I was also the one who got into the altercation after your presentation and was brought out to the common area.  However, I was glad you came.  You spoke volumes.  You made me look at life differently.  No matter what we go through, we are able to overcome those problems.  You’ve encouraged me to do better for myself and for my future family.

I just wanted to say thank you for coming out and speaking knowledge and wisdom into my life and (for) taking time out of your day to come and speak to us.  I don’t know about other people but to me, I’m grateful for you coming out and speaking wisdom to me.  I honestly took to heart what you said and that you’ve encouraged me to do better in my life.

We wanted to share this story with the ATP community as you have supported the outreach and work that leads to these kinds of life-changing events.

Thank you and God Bless You for supporting Victor’s work and the work of ATP Ministries.
